Widest Variety Of Actvities: The Six Governors Camp Properities offer the widest variety of game viewing experiences and activities. Conde Nast Travel Magazine (1999) Voted Governors Camp The Best Hotel Worldwide For Location And Activities

Traditional Experience: Governors Camps Offer a true traditional safari experience in a natural and unspoiled setting. Nowhere else can you get so close to the wildlife while enjoying the comforts of a Luxury Hotel.

Governors' Camp now offers exciting Field Guide Training courses to our clients. The Governors' Field Guide Training Course is one of the best new opportunities that I have come across in some time. Not only does it provide a whole new insight into the Mara and the 'bush' for those in the business but it gives Governors' clients the opportunity to brush up on their bush craft and have a whole lot of fun at the same time. It is also a great add-on holiday option for safari visitors who, for the first time, have the opportunity to participate in the bush experience 'hands on'.

AFRICA’S FIRST CAMPS AND STILL THE BEST

Throughout Africa, one family of safari camps provides the standard by which all others are judged; the Governors' Family of Camp.

It began in 1972 with Africa’s first luxury safari camp, Governors’ Camp, built on the spot once reserved exclusively for Kenya’s Colonial Governors. We kept the name and the best of the traditions: every desire is catered for, no luxury overlooked. If you are seeking for something special look no further.

Over a quarter of a century later there are six camps and lodges in the family each with its own style, its own character. You can spend almost your entire stay in Kenya in a Governors’ Camp. We’ve been much imitated the length and breadth of the continent, but never surpassed.

You’ll be in the hands of some of the most experienced people in the safari business. Our camp managers have spent years living in the bush, our chefs are trained by professionals from top hotels and restaurants around the world, our guides and drivers all know the parks and animals intimately.

From the start we’ve stood out for our commitment to the environment. We work with conservation groups to preserve endangered species and bring benefits to local communities.

Your security and safety is always in our minds. You may be in wildest Africa but our communications networks mean you can be in touch with anyone, anywhere if necessary. Miles from civilisation you can rely on us.

ONE FAMILY, THE BEST PEDIGREE

Each Camp in the Governors’ Family has it’s own character, but all keep to our guiding principles: traditional styles made from local materials, luxuriously appointed in the most beautiful of settings. Add our trademark delicious food and friendly service, and you won’t want to leave.

Families and children are welcome, and if you have any special needs please let us know.

The Masai Mara Game Reserve

Choose from four tented-camps all in the classic safari style. Each tent has it’s own en-suite bathroom with constant hot and cold running water and flushing toilets. Lighting is by gas, kerosene lantern and candlelight.
