Italian citizens need a current passport with a three-month tourist visa.

Vaccinations
There are no required vaccinations for Kenya. If, however, you stop in Tanzania before entering Kenya there is a vaccination required for Yellow Fever. We recommend preventive treatment for malaria. Before your departure ask your family doctor to prescribe the most suitable medicines or treatment. During the vacation it makes sense to follow certain rules of preventive behaviour: When going out at sunset we recommend wearing long pants and a long sleeved shirt, use an effective insect repellent topically and sleep under mosquito netting.

Currency
In Kenya the currency is the Kenya Shilling, divided in 100 cents and valued at 0,013 / 0,016 euro.

Airport taxes (Approximate)
For international departures - 40 US dollars per person
For domestic departures - 200 Shilling per person.

Language
The official languages are Kiswahili and English.

Climate
The climate is typically tropical. The coast benefits from the influence of the monsoons that keep the temperature pleasant, oscillating between 24 and 30 degrees centigrade. May and June are the rainy months of the year.

Clothing
We advise casual, practical clothing, especially if you intend to go on safari, with flat, comfortable walking shoes or fully closed boots. For the trip to Malindi don't forget: a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent for the mosquitoes and an umbrella during the rainy season.
A sweater comes in handy in the evenings.
Baggage for safaris must be reduced. We recommend using a small, comfortable backpack.

Electrical current
Varies from 220 to 240 volts, with flat wall outlets: bring along an adapter.
We advise you to pay attention while using electrical outlets in the bedrooms and bathrooms of the hotel as well. We are happy to inform you that the Kilili Baharini has been completely remodelled, equipped with italian wall outlets and is up to European Economic Community standards.

We have dedicated a whole section to the African crafts and hope you will take the time to read it.

Tips
Tips are recommended and will generally assure a higher level of service. Coming back from the Safari you are usually expected to tip the driver.

Cuisine
Cuisine is typically international.
