Older
than the London Ritz, younger than The Savoy, no other hotel in
Kenya has as rich a history as the Norfolk, one of the world's
most romantic hotels. When it was first opened on Christmas Day,
1904, it was to spearhead traditions of hospitality in East
Africa which are still unmatched today. It is said that Nairobi
as a capital city grew up around the Norfolk. From the new and
old worlds the first guests came, many of noble birth. The guest
list made its name as a legend then and still does so today. The
Norfolk Hotel is a thirty minute drive from Jomo Kenyatta
International Airport and a short distance from Nairobi's
shopping and business district.

Being
the second oldest hotel in Nairobi, The Norfolk Hotel is one of the pioneers
of the catering business. After browsing through what we have to offer, we are
sure you will find us most suitable for your next reception, conference,
seminar or banqueting event. The hotel's unique atmosphere has only been
enhanced by the passing of time and our cuisine and service continues to be
the envy of other establishments. We have a wide variety of banqueting,
buffet, breakfast and
cocktail
menus for you to choose from.
The
dimensions
and capacities of the conference venues are indicated below.
THE
BALL ROOM:
The Ballroom, with a
complete range of equipment and a seating capacity for up to 175 persons is
Nairobi's most sought after conference venue. Situated at the front of the
hotel next to the Hibiscus Bar and Lounge, this venue is fully air-conditioned
with a dimmable lighting system and can be split into two rooms each holding
its' own meeting. The Ballroom has adjacent washroom facilities. Set-ups can
be arranged to suit theatre-style, board-room, U-shaped or banqueting events.
THE
TINGA TINGA ROOM:
The Tinga Tinga Room is an L-shaped room which can
also be split into two separate conference venues. This conference room is
situated in the new Acacia Wing, and is also fully air-conditioned and has the
same lighting system as in the Ballroom. This room is serviced by the kitchen
servicing the Swimming Pool, and conference participants may use the washroom
facilities situated at the Swimming Pool.
THE
PIONEER ROOM :
The Pioneer
Room is situated at the front of the Hotel, next to the Ballroom
and the Hibiscus Bar and Lounge. With a maximum seating capacity
of 35 people, this venue is used most for board-room
meetings, but also as a dining area for the Ballroom. The
Pioneer Room is serviced by the main kitchen and the Hibiscus
Bar, and shares the washroom facilities with the Ballroom.
THE

The Lord Delamere Patio is situated behind the Lord
Delamere Restaurant, facing the inner courtyard of the Hotel. At lunch time
this patio is used as part of the restaurant, so is not available for hire. In
