About Young Explorers Club :

If you are between 2 and 12 years old and live in East Africa, you are entitled to become a Lonrho Hotels Kenya Young Explorer!

The Young Explorer’s Club is a club open to children between 2 and 12 years old, living in East Africa. All you have to do to qualify for membership is to stay at a Lonrho Hotels Kenya property. If you wish to become a member of the Young Explorer Club, simply ask at the front desk of whichever of our properties you're staying at. You will be given a registration card and "Young Explorer’s Club" passport to complete. Fill in the details inside the front page of the passport, and remember to take it with you each time you go to a Lonrho Hotels Kenya property.

Each time you stay at Mara Safari Club, Mount Kenya Safari Club, Aberdare Country Club, the Ark, Ol Pejeta Ranch or Sweetwaters Tented Camp, our front office staff will put one stamp in your passport for each night stayed. When you achieve the following number stamps in your passport, you can win one of these fantastic prizes:

For 10 stamps: you win a full-day safari at the Nairobi National Park with a visit to the animal orphanage and a scrumptious picnic for yourself and five of your friends!

For 20 stamps: you win a Sweetwaters Safari. this is 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 children full board at Sweetwaters Tented Camp with a night game drive!

For 50 stamps: you win a fantastic Mount Kenya Holiday: this gives you two nights for two adults and two children in a cottage at Mount Kenya Safari Club, full board, with all the activities free!

For 100 stamps: you win a Mara Flying Safari! This entitles you to 2 nights, for 2 adults and 2 children full board at Mara Safari Club with return flights from wilson airport and 3 daily game drives!

Young Explorer's Club newsletters

Each quarter, the young explorers club secretary sends a newsletter to each and every young explorer to talk about what is going on at lonrho hotels kenya. These newsletters include photographs, games, competitions, great news and information. The club secretary also answers letters from young explorers who want to be lonrho pen-pals!

Young Explorer's Children’s Nights at the Ark

Because we do not usually allow children under 7 years old at the Ark, Lonrho Hotels Kenya has "Children’s Nights" at the Ark every quarter. This means that children of any age can visit the ark with other young explorers and their parents on specified nights during the year, and see the big five in the Aberdare National Park. Watch out for the children’s night dates in the newsletters.

The Young Explorer's Club sends young explorers a birthday card every year, until your 12th birthday!

Young Explorer's Club special parties

The Young Explorer's Club also holds parties for its East African resident members several times during the year. These can be held at any of the Lonrho Hotels Kenya properties, and are great fun for both the Young Explorers and their parents!
